date night.

I had the day after Thanksgiving off and because Kevin didn’t have a show and we had nothing else going on, we decided to have a date night. It’s not often that we go out and it's just the two of us. Most of our nights are spent at his club (or out watching bands at other places) and dinner often means a quick meal at home, or eating on the run. So, whenever a day pops up with nothing to do, I take full advantage.

We started the day by looking at an apartment down in Covington. We both fell in love with the place and we’ll actually be moving there later this month (more to come on that later). Then we spent the afternoon running a few errands and laying around.

Friday night was the big date night. We bundled up and went down the Fountain Square for the lighting of the Christmas tree. It was fun to see the skating rink up and so many people out to celebrate the holiday season. Next we went over to Newport on the Levee and had a nice dinner at Calladagh's Irish Pub. That restaurant is not usually my first choice, but I was in the mood for something different. They sat us at a cozy table, next to the fireplace, so the atmosphere was really nice. The food was good too. We ended up with plenty of leftovers which made a nice 2am snack later!

We finished dinner just in time to make it to the movie. We saw Love and Other Drugs with Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal. It was a really cute movie, and while I’d consider it a “chick flick” it really wasn’t that girly. It was definitely a date night type of movie, so I’d recommend it for that.

We went home after the movie and stayed up a few hours talking and hanging out. Chilling at our apartment is probably my favorite thing to do with Kevin. It’s nice when it’s just the two of us, we have nothing else to be doing and we can stay up late just talking and listening to music.

Date night was a success. Hopefully we can squeeze in one more before Christmas
