wonderful weekend

I just love spring so much. I love being outside on my deck. I love walking Bella at sunset. I love spending the afternoons outside with friends…enjoying a few drinks. Spring is my favorite.

Spring is always a really busy time. Once I am done with my winter hibernation (Jan.- March) it’s busy, busy, busy. I just can’t say no to happy hour on a patio or tea-time under the stars. I just love being outside.

I had a great weekend hanging out with new friends. I’m not so great at making new friends because I have some really good old friends already. But, the more new friends I let into my life, the more I realize the value in that. So, I spent my weekend with new work friends and new church friends....and had a ton of fun. A few months back, I joined a small group for the all church/all city journey and I really lucked out. I’ve really enjoyed our meetings and have gotten a lot out them…I’ve learned a lot. I’ve also enjoyed countless hours of just hanging out, having wine time…and that’s of course a lot of fun as well. The journey has come to an end, but some of use will continue on in small group together and the rest of us will continue to hang out and I couldn’t be more excited.

I also spent a lot of my weekend rearranging furniture in my apartment. My neighbor is moving out, so I am buying a few things from her to put in my place. I’ve decided it’s time to make my place really feel like home. Since I had absolutely no furniture when I moved in, most of my money has gone to standard furnishings…and now I have most of that covered, so I’m looking forward to adding some accessories!

To wrap up a great weekend, the police came to my apartment around 10 last night. I heard them come in saying “Norwood Police” so, I went out on my deck to find out what was going on. Apparently, the homeless guy who occasionally sleeps in my basement, was around all weekend and it was making my neighbor nervous because she was recently robbed and now thinks it may be this guy. The guy used to actually live in my building, but is now homeless, so he knows how to get into the basement. I feel bad for him, and don’t care if he sleeps down there, but I don’t want him to scare me..and that basement is just creepy, I would never sleep down there! I dread tornado season, because I don’t want to have to be down there long! Anyway, the police said he wasn’t there, so he must have snuck out or something, I don’t know. I’ve never actually seen the guy, I’ve just heard stories from the people who live downstairs (who are both moving…pray I get some good new neighbors!).

I guess I don’t have much else going on. Work is still really busy and apparently I gained 3 pounds over the weekend…haha....blah. I need to get into shape before summer! Time to count calories and workout...
