Sarah Allspaw: Dammit

I have never seen Blink 182 live. The reasons are endless, but basically, any live footage I have ever seen of them sucks. Why would I pay to see them? I mean, I think they are really really bad live.

Well, I've apparently had a change of heart. I bought a ticket today, and I am seeing them for the first time tomorrow night.

I love their songs, their immature banter, and of course Travis Barker (who doesn't love him)? I am not a fan of Tom, sorry, he annoys me. His voice is annoying. I have seen Travis and Mark play live on many occasions in other bands, so I blame Tom for the reasons "I don't like Blink".

I LOVE music that is GOOD LIVE. I've seen some really good punk bands in my time who sound equally as good, if not better than on the record. Blink always sounds different to me, I don't know why. I barely have an ear for music, and I certainly can't sing or play an instrument (other than a little piano and of course, the flute back in the day). I can appreciate music though. I like what I like...but at the same time, I know when what I like is good, like really good.

So, here's the deal: Blink better not disappoint me tomorrow. I cannot wait to see them play and I LOVE summer concerts outside...so this will be the perfect night. I've spent 13 or so years in a love/hate relationship with this band, and its time I make up my mind.

I going to be optimistic and say it's going to be great...at least I know it will be great fun :)
