I have implemented a two hours, technology free rule into my life. I try to spend two hours a day doing something without my phone, computer or TV. It seems like that should be pretty easy to do, but some days its very challenging for me.
I usually get my two hours in by taking a walk outside for a half an hour during my lunch break (also some good exercise)! At night I will walk Bella outside or go to the park, or stay in an read a little bit. I was doing a really good job with the two hours technology free a night until last weekend when I decided I was going to start working out. Like really working out...not just walking Bella.
I spend some time each night on the treadmill and lifting weights which usually means I am watching Friends DVDs on the TV...but at least I am not checking my phone/sitting with my laptop on my lap!
Another thing I "discovered" lately are whey/soy protein shakes. I know athletes drink these all the time, but I had no idea how much energy they would give me! I have been having a shake for breakfast and then again for lunch, and they give me so much energy! I almost have to get up and go for a walk, or workout to get rid of some of the energy! I am not a big meat eater (I am practically a vegetarian, but I do crave Skyline or some beef jerky every once in while) so I think I lack a lot of protein. I eat a lot of soy and cheese, but there is something about the whey protein that really hits the spot.
Well, Allie's wedding is quickly approaching and I cannot wait! She will be in town in 2 weeks for her birthday, bridal shower, and bachelorette party (it's gonna be a big weekend)! Then I am off to Corvallis/Portland OR the first week of September for her wedding. I am excited for the wedding, of course, but I am also very excited to see Oregon! Anne and I are going to some sight seeing and you can believe I WILL be going to the coast for a day. You can't keep me from the ocean!
