I have been making daily trips to The Home Depot for my dad. I am helping him do restoration work on some houses which mostly consists of me cleaning and making trips to The Home Depot for his other workers. I like being a delivery girl...it's kind of fun! I usually don't know exactly what I am even looking for in the store, so that adds to the excitement of the mission.
(okay...right about now, you may think I am trying a little too hard to find the good in my current state of employment...however, I am being really serious about my love of hardware stores and I don't care if you think I am crazy for sawdust).
What's ironic about this whole thing is that I worked at Lowe's for a summer during college and I hated every second of that job. I don't know that I even hated the job...I think I just didn't like my co-workers, also known as "Lowe's Lifers". Not so exciting.
So, I am spending my days working for my dad and while at times it can be hard work physically, it's mostly easy. I can make my own hours, take breaks when I want and pretty much stop to take a phone call or leave to go on an interview whenever I need to. The money isn't that bad either!
I had a phone interview today for a website community manager position for a media company. I really really want this job. I think it's going to take a lot of follow up and determination on my part, because phone interviews are so awkward for me. I thrive off of people's expressions in interviews and that's just impossible to see over the phone! Keep your fingers crossed, say some prayers, stand on your head or do whatever you do and wish me luck that I get a call back about this job!!
consider my head stood on!
